LIBERTARIANS APPLAUD LARGEST FLORIDA TAX CUT
The Libertarian Party of Florida is Happy to See Property Tax Reductions
Winter Park, Florida - The Libertarian Party of Florida (LPF) applauds the efforts of the Florida legislature in their passing a roll back and cap on property taxes.
LPF chairman, Karl Dickey, said this morning, “While we were seeking something more robust, we are happy the legislature has taken steps to reign in the bloated county and municipal budgets we have been experiencing here in Florida. While this measure still creates inequities within the system, we hope we can work those and other issues out in the 2008 legislative session. It is also unfortunate the Florida legislature has left the commercial property owners with very limited protections.”
The LPF was supporting the original Florida House plan to eliminate property taxes in favor of a slight increase to the state sales tax.
The new legislation has an immediate effect for Florida property owners and the potential for larger reductions should Florida voters approve a constitutional amendment on January 29, 2008.
