SLASH THAT BUDGET!
Libertarian Party Congratulates Crist's Reduction of Government Spending
Winter Park, Florida - The Libertarian Party of Florida (LPF) announced their strong support of Florida Governor Crist's decision to eliminate nearly $460 million in pet spending projects from the state's $72 billion budget.
Libertarian Party of Florida's chairman, Karl Dickey said, “We could have found much more to cut and we strongly support his direction to keep our legislators in line. Our state legislators are all too eager to feed at the public trough. Eliminating projects that are clearly a county or city expense is important to keep our state taxes low.”
Included in the items vetoes were a $50,000 children's science projects for the MetroZoo in Miami and almost $5 million for a community center in Senate President Ken Pruitt's district.
