Libertarians Demand Automatic Rights Restoration for Released Felons

Winter Park, Florida - The Libertarian Party of Florida (LPF) has come out in support of Governor Crist's plan of automatic restoration of an individual's civil rights who view the measure as long overdue.

Chairman of the Libertarian Party of Florida, Karl Dickey, said, “If an individual has paid their debt to society it is unconscionable to further punish them by not enabling them to vote and automatically restoring all of their civil rights. Not having those rights makes them feel as second class citizens and hampers their ability to assimilate back into society. We congratulate the Governor in making this long awaited decision and he has our complete support.”
