Phil Laibe

Hello, my name is Phillip Laibe
and I’ve lived in Jacksonville
for the last 12 years. I moved
here from Ohio not just
because Jacksonville is a great
place to live but because high
taxes and government
bureaucracy have decimated
the economy in Ohio and
there were no jobs.

The reason that I am running
for Soil and Water Board is
that I believe that cooperation
with the private sector and
volunteer groups is the best
way to maintain Jacksonville’s
beautifully diverse ecosystem.
Right now the Jacksonville Soil
and Water Board does not
collect taxes and I want to
keep it that way.

I come from a farming family
which still owns over 100 acres
of land where we grow mostly
corn in NW Ohio. My
educational background includes
a BA from the University of
Toledo and a MBA from Florida
State University. During the last
five years I have become
increasingly involved in the
political process because I see
local politicians implementing
the same failed policies that
hurt cities in my home state
and I want to let them know
that there is a better way. As a
former VP of the Concerned
Taxpayers of Duval county and
the co-host of a local public
access TV show based on politics
I have fought for the principles
of less government and lower
taxes. It is my opinion that
Jacksonville families simply
cannot afford a new tax!

I will only support programs
that are tax-free, focusing on
cooperation with local
volunteer groups as well as
local sponsors and I will oppose
new taxes and tax hikes. If
you want to know more about
me please feel free to look me
up and send me a friend request
on FaceBook. you can also see

I hope that I can count on
your vote on election day!

Snitker resigns day job to focus on campaign

TAMPA - Grassroots U.S. Senate candidate Alex Snitker has resigned his position as an office supplies salesman for Danwood America, formerly known as AXSA Document Solutions.  The Libertarian nominee thanked Danwood for their support, and said that the demands of the campaign trail have become too intense for him to be able to continue working full time.

"My Senate campaign has gained massive momentum recently," said Snitker.  "I needed much more time to devote to the race, and I didn’t feel it was fair to give the company anything less than 100% of my effort."

The underdog candidate admits that he’s taking a major financial risk by sacrificing his paycheck to put all his efforts into his Senate bid.  Unlike his rivals, who have much of their personal expenses paid for by their respective state parties, Snitker has cashed in his 401(K) in order to cover his personal bills in the coming months.

"I’m putting everything I have on the line for this," said Snitker.   "The risk is worth it.  I feel it is my duty to help ensure that my son, and all of our children, grow up in a free and prosperous America.  It’s nothing compared to what our Founders risked to ensure liberty."

Snitker, whose platform includes an enumerated powers act, the FairTax, and a non-interventionist foreign policy, has gained the support of many tea party and 912 groups statewide.   At the Florida Liberty Summit held in Orlando last weekend, Snitker won the Senate straw poll with 53 percent of the vote.  GOP frontrunner Marco Rubio placed second with 30 percent, while Crist, Meek and Green garnered little support from the smaller-government focused group.
